Zimmer, 1st round choice in 2012, joins Legends; Lexington staff has three of Royals’ mlb.com top 10 prospects
lexington-legends-logo                Right-hander Kyle Zimmer, the fifth overall choice in the June 2012 draft, has been added to the Lexington Legends roster by the Legends’ parent club, the Kansas City Royals.
Left-hander Tripp Davis was transferred from Lexington to the Idaho Falls (Pioneer League) roster.
Zimmer is expected to pitch in relief for the Legends tonight.
Zimmer joins left-hander Foster Griffin, a first round pick (28th overall) by the Royals in 2014, and Scott Blewett, a second round pick in 2014 (56th overall), on the Legends pitching staff.  All three are ranked among the top 10 prospects in the Kansas City organization bymlb.com —  Zimmer 3rd, Griffin 7th, Blewett 8th.
Legends’ catcher Chase Vallot (pronounced  vuh-LOW) is ranked 10th in the KC organization by mlb.com.
Griffin and Vallot joined the Legends May 9, and Blewett was added May 28.
