UK Sports Report

• Kentucky went 1-1-0 on the weekend, collecting a top-20 win to start the 2015 season on Friday night against the No. 20 Washington Huskies, before falling in a 2-0 decision on Sunday night to the San Diego State Aztecs at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.

• UK’s captain Courtney Raetzman scored the game-winning goal on Friday night in the win directly off of a corner kick, untouched through the box and into the back of the net. It was her first goal of the season, coming off a six-goal season in 2014, where she was UK’s second-leading returning scorer.
• The Wildcats started a freshman in net this weekend, in Katelyn Jensen, who kept a clean sheet in her career debut, becoming just the third UK soccer player all-time to record a shutout in her first-career start as a freshman.
• UK caps off its weekend 1-1-0 overall with a top-20 win against the Washington Huskies on Friday night. The Wildcats are back in action on Friday, Aug. 28 against UNC Greensboro with a 5 p.m. ET kickoff as the commencement of a UK Soccer doubleheader at the Bell Soccer Complex.
