The Charlotte Roval is the new form to an old track bringing new rivals and enemies. Instead of the normal 1.5 speedway, it is more like a road race.  With much fan delight, this is the second season with other tracks like Atlanta looking at doing a Roval track.   This race was an elimination race after a set of three races in the first stage of the Chase to the Monster Championship.

The water bottle heard around the track. Post race, after much on track tension and contact, #88 Alex Bowman, who was being attended to as he had flu like systems week, Bubba Wallace #43 approached Bowman and threw water from his water bottle into his face. Bubba had been giving Bowman an “unkind jester with a certain finger” each time he passed him and Bowman got into Bubba a few times.  NASCAR officials not going to react but want drivers to put their emotions to the side. #41 Suarez and #6 Ryan Newman had some heated discussion after the race as well.  All I can think is Martinsville?!?
Winning the Charlotte Roval 400 was Chase Elliott # 9 Hendrick Chevy after rebounding going nose first into the soft wall in the 3rd stage of the race.  Second place was Elliott’s teammate Alex Bowman in the # 88 Hendrick Chevy despise on track fighting illness and Bubba Wallace.  Third place was #4 Stewart Haas Ford Kevin Harvick. Season winner #18 Kyle Busch had enough points to secure a pass to the next round in the Championship and parked his ill faded car laps before race ended.
Eliminated from the Championship playoffs are 13Th place in standings Aric Armirola; 14th place Ryan Newman; 15th place Kurt Busch; 16th place Erik Jones.
Only 6 points separate positions eighth place to twelfth place.
