Biggest racing news of the week was Roger Penske purchased the Indianapolis Motor Speedway home to Indianapolis 500 and The Brickyard.  Penske will hopefully rejuvenate the historic track.

The AAA Texas 500 seen Kevin Harvick punch his ticket to qualify for one of the final four spots for the Monster Championship along with last week winner Martin Truex Jr.  After next weeks Phoenix race, the other two spots will be completed as 4 more cars out of the eight team, will be eliminated.  Stewart Haas Ford had the top three finishing cars for the AAA Texas 500.  2nd place went to # 10 Aric Almirola and 3rd was #41 Daniel Suarez.

#43 Petty driver Bubba Wallace caused more controversy by a possible intentional spin to try to change the end of the race. NASCAR was investigating if it was fictitious or not.
