BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eastern Kentucky University’s women’s basketball team fell on the road at No. 15/16 Indiana University on Wednesday in Bloomington, 100-51.

Freshman Amerah Steele posted a team-best 13 points and chipped in two rebounds off the bench. Alice Recanati posted 11 points and three rebounds. Kynnedy Azubike posted 10 points and four rebounds off the bench.

Indiana (1-0) used a big first quarter jumping out to an early 10-3 lead and never looked back. 

Mackenzie Holmes posted a game-high 26 points to go with eight rebounds. Grace Berger posted 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

EKU shot 25 percent from the field. The Colonels scored 29 bench points.

The Colonels hit the road on Sunday when they travel to take on No. 5 Louisville at the KFC Yum Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
