Auburn, AL 1-16-21 – The Kentucky Wildcats traveled to Auburn University hoping to get back on the winning track only to come up short again 59-66.

  Kentucky’s offensive woes continued as they shot a woeful 40% (22-55). Even more painfully, the Cats were 25% (4-16) shooting behind the arc and free throws 56% (9-16).

  Auburn’s offense wasn’t much better as they shot 38% (23-60) from the field,  21% (5-24) on 3-point attempts as well as 71% (15-21) from the charity stripe.

  Kentucky was led in scoring by Davion Mintz with 12 points followed by Jacob Toppin with 10 points. Auburn was led by 3 players scoring in double figures….Allen Flanigan led all scorers with 21 points, Devan Cambridge had 13 points followed by Sharife Cooper with11 points.

  The Cats turned the ball over 18 times leading to 20 Auburn points while the Cats caused 14 turnovers but only got 12 points.
  The Wildcats will try to get back on the winning track Wednesday as they take on the Georgia Bulldogs while Auburn will battle Arkansas.
  Kentucky drops to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the SEC while Auburn now stands at 8-6…5-2 in league play.
