ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Tech took 11th at the McDonough Cup this week. 
 
The tournament took place at Rio Pinar Country Club’s par-72, 7,001-yard course. This week’s field included four teams ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Polls, including No. T-21 Nova Southeastern, No. T-21 Indianapolis, Flagler (RV) and NJCAA No. 5 Eastern Florida State. 
 
Nova Southeastern won the event handedly with a score of -20 (844) over the three rounds. Eastern Florida came in second place at -7 (857) and Mount Olive finished third with a score of -5 (859). Florida Tech ended the 54 holes with a score of +37 (901). 
 
Yannick Koehnen shot a round low 66 during Monday’s second round and paced the Panthers at T-13 with a score of -1 (77-66-72). Derek Sanderson ended T-19 at +1 (73-73-71) while Zackary Sherman, who was making his debut in the Panthers’ starting lineup, finished T-61 with a three-round total of +15 (76-78-77). 
 
Koehnen led Tech with 10 birdies over the two days, while Sanderson had eight birdies. 
 
This tournament concludes Florida Tech’s fall season. The Panthers will be back in action on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Titan Winter Invitational hosted by Eastern Florida at Suntree Country Club in Melbourne.
