Week 9 of the NFL season had the Cincinnati Bengals (4-4) play host to the Carolina Panthers (2-6). Cincinnati was looking to unleash their high octane offense after a disappointing performance on Monday Night Football versus intrastate rival Cleveland Browns.

Cincinnati came out clicking on all cylinders both offensively and defensively. The Bengals defense held the Panthers to a total of 228 yards for the game while also collecting 2 interceptions. Carolina quarterback, P J Walker, could only manage completing 3 of 10 passing for 9 yards with a QBR of 0.00. With Walker at quarterback, the Panthers only managed to gain 32 yards total yards along with one first down in the first half. Only once switching to Baker Mayfield at QB to start the second half, did Carolina finally get on the board.

Bengals running back Joe Mixon stole the show with 22 carries and gaining 163 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns ( 4 rushing, 1 receiving). At the end of the day, Mixon set club record for most TD’s in a Bengals game and most points scored in a game. Also, put Mixon in the NFL books for second most TD’s ever scored in a single game.

Joe Burrow, played in only 3 quarters, finished 22-28 for 206 yards, 1 rushing TD and passing for another.
Cincinnati improves to (5-4) while Carolina drops to (2-7). The Bengals have a bye week before traveling to Pittsburgh while the Panthers will host the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.

Final score Cincinnati 42 Carolina 21 before 66,160 people in attendance.
