No this isn’t an April Fools’ joke, the Cincinnati Reds evened up their

record on the young season at 1-1 with a convincing win over the visiting Pirates 6-2. The Reds would hammer 3 homeruns and rode quality pitching from Nick Lodolo.

Lodolo pitched 5 innings striking out 9 while walking 2 batters. Lodolo gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. The Reds bullpen would pitch the final 4 innings without giving up a run.

The Reds offense flexed their muscles while hitting 3 homers. Jonathan India homers (1) on a fly ball to left center field in the first to start the barrage, followed by Kevin Newman who homered (1) on a fly ball to left field. Tyler Stephenson scores. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Jake Fraley homers (1) on a fly ball to right field. Wil Myers & Tyler Stephenson scored. All six of the Reds runs came via the home run.
