The Cincinnati Reds did something they hadn’t done in 3 games. They scored against the Milwaukee Brewers at home. The Reds were coming off 3 consecutive shutouts garnering only 7 hits total in the 3 losses. The Reds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning after Joey Votto doubled to Center scoring Jonathan India who had led off the inning with a single.

The Brewers wasted no time tying the contest as Christian Yelich drove a ball 456 ft to deep right center for a homerun. The Reds would retake the lead on a Jake Fraley 417 ft. bomb to right center scoring Matt McLain who had singled to lead off the inning. Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead and looked ready to shake off their dead bats.

The Brewers would cut the lead to 3-2 in the 5th when Christian Yelich drove in his 2nd run of the game with a RBI single scoring Andruw Monasterio. The score would stay this way until the top of the 8th when the Brewers would score twice. Milwaukee tied the game on an Owen Miller sac fly scoring WIlly Adames. The Brewers would take the lead later in the inning on an Andruw Monasterio single scoring Tyrone Taylor.

The Reds have now lost 4 in a row and 5 of 6 and have fallen 2 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds open a 4 game series at home tonight against the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are 52-41 and are now in second place in the NL West.The Reds will send Brandon Williamson (1-2 with a 5.21 era) to the mound while the Giants will counter with Logan Webb (8-7 with a 3.14 era) Webb is coming off a complete game shutout over the Colorado Rockies
