Wow what a ballgame!!  Kentucky hosted the then #10 Florida Gators with a sellout crowd.  The Crowd was the most electrifying  I’ve seen in the more than ten plus years I’ve been going as a season ticket holder.  This year so far at all the games(maybe not Chattanooga) the fans have been very engaged.  One thing that i like is on the video boards they start the BLUE, WHITE chant when the team needs a big stop.  In years past they tried the same thing with just the cheerleaders and it just wasn’t effective.  I think this will stick.

The crowd was so loud that it caused Florida to false start eight times(almost as many as points scored). Speaking of penalties……You would think the game was being played in the Swamp.  The pass interference call on Valentine was the most phantom call I’ve ever seen.  Then there was the no call on Robinson getting tripped up.

For once this year the turnover battle was even. But JJ Weaver’s was a thing of beauty, and provided the momentum we needed.  Follow that with Josh Paschal’s block of the kick and Trevin Wallace sprinting 76 yards for the scoop and score!!

Let’s talk about the reason Kentucky won this game. DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!!!! Going into the game Florida had been rushing for over 300, yes 300YPG.  Saturday they rushed for only 171.  This defensive unit is probably the most disciplined unit i have ever watched.  They stay in their assignments and dont try to over play.

This coming Saturday the Cats welcome the Bayou Bengals to another sellout crowd.  Let’s hope the team stays just as focused as the Florida game.

GO BIG BLUE
