Yates Tallied Match-High 10 Kills, Hit at .562 for the Match

DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball team downed visiting Davidson 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-18) Saturday afternoon at Frericks Center. With the win, the Flyers extend their winning streak to six and remain unbeaten in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Freshman Alayna Yates posted a match-high 10 kills while senior Jamie Peterson turned in an all-around performance with eight kills, seven aces, six blocks and five digs for the Flyers.

Dayton improves to 12-5 on the season and 6-0 in league action while Davidson moves to an even 8-8 overall and 4-2 in A-10 matches.

KET STATS
• .300 – as a team, Dayton out-hit Davidson .300 to .103 for the match
• 16 – senior Maura Collins led all passers with a match-high 16 digs
• 13 – the Flyers combined for 13 service aces, led by Peterson with a career-high seven aces
• 10 – Yates lead all attackers with 10 kills, the second-consecutive match with double-digit kills for the middle blocker, while swinging at a blistering .562 (10-1-16)

UP NEXT
Dayton is set to close out the weekend with a Sunday afternoon tilt against Saint Louis. First serve between the Flyers and Billikens is set for 1 p.m. in Frericks Center and admission is free. Per current City of Dayton Mask Mandate, fans are required to wear their masks completely over their nose and mouth throughout their time in Frericks Center (including inside the Gym) unless actively eating or drinking. These guidelines are subject to change with current local and state regulations.
