LEXINGTON, Ky. – Delivering an unmatched performance on Championship Saturday, sweeping both rounds of competition, Alex Marcilio (Macaubal, Brazil) captured the event win at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour stop inside the iconic Rupp Arena, victorious at the Lexington Invitational.

Marcilio first put points on the board in Round 1 when he covered Rock Solid’s Cowboy Cartel (Rock Solid Bucking Bulls) for 85 points.

Tied for seventh on the event leaderboard, Marcilio then faced Shakira (Cannon Cattle Co.) as Championship Saturday got underway in Round 2. In a perfect pairing, Marcilio conquered the powerful animal athlete for 88.5 points to capture the round win and punch his ticket to the final round.

The steadfast Brazilian then went to work against Hey Bartender (JQH Bucking Bulls/Skip & Elaine Jones) in the championship round. Remaining white-hot, Marcilio delivered another round-winning 88.5-point score to clinch the event victory.

For his efforts, Marcilio garnered a crucial 148.5 Velocity Global points to overtake the No. 1 ranking in the Velocity Global standings.

Second was Flavio Zivieri (Balsamo, Brazil), netting 98.5 Velocity Global points.

Zivieri advanced to the championship round courtesy of an 85-point ride on Axel Surgeon (Halpain Bucking Bulls #2) in Round 1 and 87-point score aboard Here I Am (Cash Money Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.

He then remained perfect in the final round when he reached the whistle aboard Thunder (Cash Money Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points to cement the silver finish.

As the only other rider to be perfect at the Kentucky event, Jake Morinec (Mokena, Illinois) was third.

Morinec made a business decision in the opening round of action, electing to keep his 69-point score earned atop Keep ‘em Guessin (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls).

In Round 2, he delivered his second score in as many attempts when he outlasted Little Dreams (Kevin Foreman Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points.

The Illinois man then squared off against Slick (Sho-Me Rodeo/Diamond W) in the championship round. He capped his perfect outing inside Rupp Arena with an 86.5-point ride.

The podium finish earned him 60 Velocity Global points.

Fourth was Hunter Ball (Carsonville, Michigan), taking home 55 Velocity Global points.

Ball bookended his event with qualified rides, marked 87 points on Light It Up (Nothin’ But Try Ranch/Kinser/McCall) in Round 1 and a matching 87 points atop Captain Sparrow (Halpain Bucking Bulls #2) in the final round.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Justin Ethridge (Buford, Georgia).

Despite a Round 1 buckoff, Ethridge was sensational on Championship Saturday, first riding Axel Surgeon for 86.5 points in Round 2 before covering Next Question (UTC/Sellers Bucking Bulls) for 86 points in the championship round.

Ethridge will return home having earned 48.5 Velocity Global points.
