The Reds appear to have found their stroke again winning their 5th in a row after losing 6 in a row. Cincinnati swept the Arizona Diamondbacks after breaking a 3-3 tie with 4 runs in the 8th inning.
Cincinnati jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind a 1st inning solo homerun bu De La Cruz and added two more in the bottom of the second on a Nick Senzel 2 run bomb to left center.
The Diamondbacks clawed back to 3 apiece in the top of the 5th inning on a Marte RBI single and a 2 run homer by Corbin Carroll that went 452 feet to straight away center field.
Cincinnati would take the lead in the bottom of the 6th on a Jake Fraley RBI double making it 4-3, Reds
The Reds would break things open in the 8th behind a Spencer Steer RBI single followed by a two run single by Christian Encarnacion-Strand. The Reds used 7 pitchers to secure the win.
The Reds climbed back within .5 game behind the first place Brewers. The Reds will try to regain the top spot when they embark on a 10 game road trip with 3 games at first place Milwaukee, then 3 at the red hot first place Dodgers before finishing up with 4 games at the suddenly hot Chicago Cubs.
