Powell County’s Jack Rose hit a milestone in his basketball career Friday, December 22nd, 2023 on the road at Wolfe County. Jack hit the 1,000 point mark in the first half of the Pirates game against Wolfe County.

Coach Allen Martin released the following statement about Jack Rose accomplishment.

“Jack has played varsity since his freshman season, began starting his sophomore year and has never relinquished that role. As a young player his points came from being ball dominant and scoring off the drive, as he’s gotten older he’s learned how to play without the ball in his hands and further increased his ability to score in other ways. He’s always been a guy who asked to come in early, stay late, come in on off days. The rarity of having a 1000 point scorer at Powell makes this all the more impressive, in our history there may be less than 20. It takes longevity, it takes earning minutes at a young age, and above all consistency.”
