MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State Beach Volleyball wrapped up the 2024 regular season with a comeback win over Lindenwood Saturday before falling to Chattanooga in its last match of OVC Weekend No. 2 at UT Martin.

The Eagles trailed the Lions 2-1 but won at Nos. 2 and 3 to rally for a 3-2 win. Despite a pair of three-set matches, Chattanooga defeated MSU 5-0.

The Eagles solidified the No. 4 seed for this week’s OVC Tournament at the home Giovanni’s Breadstick Beach. MSU will kick off the event versus No. 5 Tennessee Tech Thursday at 10 a.m. ET. The Eagles and Golden Eagles split a pair of matches this season, each winning 3-2 in epic battles.

In the Lindenwood win, MSU lost at No. 4 to open but tied the match 1-1 as Amelia Nott and Courtney Fitzgerald won 21-18, 23-21 at No. 5. The Lions took the 2-1 lead with a straight-set victory at No. 1.

At No.3, M.E. Hargan and Peighton Isley outlasted their foes 21-13, 17-21, 15-13 to knot the match 2-2. The clincher then came at No. 2 as Irene Wogenstahl and Shea Hefner claimed a three-set win, 21-7, 15-21, 15-8.
Lindenwood had previously beaten MSU 5-0 on March 22.
In the match versus Chattanooga, MSU took the Nos. 1 and 5 matches to three sets. At No. 1, Sydney Wyman and Bella Marita won their second frame 23-21 before narrowly falling 15-10 in the third. At No. 5, Nott and Fitzgerald rallied to win set two, 21-15 before dropping the last stanza.
