It was at the 13:57 mark in the first half the highly touted UK Wildcats were up 17-15 on the Tennessee Volunteers. That was about the time the Vols showed that this was not going to be like the beat down they suffered in Lexington 107-79.

Tennessee would close out the half on a 31-15 run making the half time score 46-32 in favor of Tennessee. Unlike the game in Lexington, Kentucky was having a difficult time making shots, and they were turning the ball over. Tennessee on the other hand was making threes, playing tough defense and seem to be out hustling the Wildcats. Kentucky looked unprepared and appeared to be going through the motions.

UK opened the 2nd half on a 13-7 run to cut the lead to 53-45 at the 11:24 mark.it was at this time, Tennessee regained their stride and went on a 15-6 run for a 68-51. The game was never in question after that. UK now has 5 losses. Out of those 5, UK has looked more like the 9 win team from last year than the predicted Final Four team most seem to think they have become this year.

Kentucky’s schedule doesn’t get any easier as they play Alabama, LSU at home then Arkansas on the road, home against Mississippi then on the road at Florida. Kentucky can use those games to get back on a run for the SEC Tournament and possibly get a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Time will tell which UK team will show up. The team that has looked like the 9 win team from last year or the 21 win team from this year.
